Question about break rotors and pads - Part 2?

First, I want to thank everyone for their answers to my first question. I have a '99 Audi A4, 2.8L V6. I need to change my rotors and break pads. I have found great rotors online - slotted drilled rotors, 4 for $240 with free S%26amp;H, is that a reasonable price range? As for break pads, there is a very wide price range - from $30 to $200 and more for a set of four pads. How do I know which ones to purchase and which ones are best for my car adn my needs? I don't plan on driving my car at a NASCAR or Formula 1 race. I want reliable, good and reasonably affordable pads that will do a great job without the excessive and unnecessary bells and whistles as all that costs too much extra. So please advise how do I chose what break pads to buy and what is a reasonable price range. Do I need ceramic ones? (my car has semi-metallic pads on it right now). And would you be able to tell me how much approximately it would cost changing all rotors and pads? Thanks fellas!Question about break rotors and pads - Part 2?
It looks like you've made up your mind about the slotted rotors.......even if you really don't need them. I would go with ceramic pads because they are cleaner and don't give off a lot of brake dust. Cost would be price of the parts and about 2-3 hrs of labor. Your labor is cheaper, someone else's labor at their shop will be more expensive.Question about break rotors and pads - Part 2?
you can get brake pads for as little as 25 bucks that Will work just fine but your upgrading your rotors so why not the the pads right.. and have you check with any parts store about the same things you want or need you never know til you do...... ive drove all my car hard and ive never seen the need to up grade at all so what came with the car is what the designers throught was best and if your not racing why would you need it .. but it really up to you and your pockets better rotors do need better pads mayb enot the best but id sure get better than the cheap ones
