My car shakes when I brake. Should I change my rotors?

My car shakes when I brake. Should I change my rotors?

When I break after driving 50+ MPH, my car shakes. This does not really bother me, but I wonder if it could lead to something more serious. Can it? And what would I have to change and how much would it cost? Thanks!!!My car shakes when I brake. Should I change my rotors?
I had the same problem and I had mine shaved down just to give myself a little time before they needed to be changed and after that it was about 4 years before I had them replaced. You don't want to mess with brakes and they will only warp more as time goes by but you can always ask the opinion of a trusted mechanic as to whether you have some more ware left on them. Once you do change the rotors, you will most likely need to change the pads too.

Good Luck!!My car shakes when I brake. Should I change my rotors?
you can have them machined down to take the warping out of them and that's cheaper than buying new ones on it ,it helps to tell us the kind of car your working on sometimes this way you can get a lot better answer, if you have them turned they will replace the pads and turn the rotors for about 75-100 bucks, good luck on it.My car shakes when I brake. No shop out there will change the pads and machine rotors for 75-100 dollars. If they do, they use inferior pads like autozone or raybestos. I'd spend the additional 50 dollars and get some Centric Ceramics. For 140-150 dollars you can get high quality pads and rotors resurfaced. My car shakes when I brake. Should I change my rotors?
it really depends on how the rotors look, and how much life you have left in your pads. if you are going to need to get new pads in 5-10k miles then you should just wait. you might be able to just turn the rotors which would save you some money. you can go with a/m rotors but i would stick with a pad that is made by the manufacturer rather than a a/m pad. the a/m pads always make noise. My car shakes when I brake.
