How often do you need to change the break rotors on you automobile?

If you change the pads before they are gone and the steel plates eat into the rotors you may not have to change them at all. I find you usually have to change them if they warp due to excessive braking. If you get a lot of vibration when braking you may need to change them. Also if they are gouged, or worn thin. How often do you need to change the break rotors on you automobile?
Depends on how it's been driven and how far the pads wore down. It's not a mileage thing. How often do you need to change the break rotors on you automobile?
Typically break rotors are considered a catastrophic failure....BRAKE rotors should be replaced when they wear down to below thickness specifications...How often do you need to change the break rotors on you automobile?
Thet are BRAKE rotors.

You don't, unless there is a problem like severe wear. Machining can be done if they are not too bad.

How do you change rear drum brakes to disk on a Nissan Sentra?

I have a 1992 Nissan Sentra XE (four door), and I want to change the stock drum brakes on the rear to disk brakes. I would also like to change the rotors in the front to bigger ones. What all do I need to do? I don't need an exact answer for my car, just the basic steps for converting drum brakes to disk.

Right now its FWD, so it doesn't even have power going back there, but I still want disk brakes. I am planning on doing an engine swap, and making it RWD, but that's a whole other animal. How do you change rear drum brakes to disk on a Nissan Sentra?
Your money would be best spent on a car less than 18 years old. That said everything is different from the master Cly to the rear parking brake cables and hydraulic hoses and tubing.. It could get costly quickly. I know only anti lock brake sentra had disks rear the 1994 year model. You could get used parts out of a autorecyclers yard. They don't like being called junk yards. I have never seen a rear wheel drive sentra conversion. If you want a 350Z get one it would be cheaper and performance parts will be available. Good LuckHow do you change rear drum brakes to disk on a Nissan Sentra?
I have to totally agree with John Paul...These are some ambitious and potentially expensive mods for that old car. As much as I like Nissan and agree they can run and run you gotta worry if or when the rust will start.... The biggest killer of these cars is not mechanical but body cancer....I would drive it the way it is and save your money...If your heart is set on the rear wheel drive consider a Z car--if you like the Sentra a R or Spec V are what is in your future.

How to control the fluctuation of energy in wind turbine?

Due to the change in the wind speed, the speed of the wind turbine rotor changes, so at the output we get variable AC supply which means we do not get exactly constant voltage and frequency.

It can be control by controlling shaft speed and at the output by varying the load (Resistance).

I need to submit a case study about that so tell me about any site or e-book where I can find comprehensive details about that. How to control the fluctuation of energy in wind turbine?

How to change toyota matrix rotors?

The EBC rotors that I have are correct for the car. But I can not get the old rotors off. It looks like I have to take the hub nut off to get the rotors off. I contacted someone from Toyota and they said %26quot;the rotors should just slide off and it just might be rusted on%26quot;.(Yes I have taken everthing off correctly). I just need an answer. Thank youHow to change toyota matrix rotors?
the hub nut does not connect the rotor to the hub and if you losen that nut and do not tighten it properly you will need two front wheel bearings as well the best way to get off the rotor is to smack it will a good sized hammer from the back side be carfull not to send it across the garage if you hit it a couple of times it should then slide off also it would be good to list the year and if it is 4wd or not but either way it is the same in this caseHow to change toyota matrix rotors?

    Brake change 2006 Jetta?

Does anyone know how to change the breaks on a 06 Jetta. I have changed breaks bofore but not on a foreign car. Are there any tips or tricks I should know? Also everyone says change the rotors with the pads but that will cost too much right now. I just want to change the pads until I have more cash.

    Thank youBrake change 2006 Jetta?
cant say for sure, but a jetta's brakes shouldnt be any different than any other car, remove caliper, compress piston, remove old pads, clean everything with brake parts cleaner, install new pads, reinstall calipers, then dont overheat the new pads for a day or so. I think VW is a normal setup, just VW uses torx bolts if im correct

How to change rear brake pads and rotor on a Chevy 2004 Trailblazer EXT?

grinding sound when i stop. Notice only the rear driver side wheel has worn pads and rotor has grooves in it.How to change rear brake pads and rotor on a Chevy 2004 Trailblazer EXT?
The information you've received thus far is good. You'll need a set of 1/2 inch drive shallow well metric sockets and a 16%26quot; breaker bar or a 16%26quot; ratchet. The bolts inside the spindle are hardened, usually rusted somewhat and they have *Blue loctite in the bolt threads from the factory. That's why you'll need the extra leverage of a 16%26quot; ratchet or a less expensive braker bar. Sears and Auto Zone's best sockets work fine for this type of work.

After removing the brake caliper it's necessary to remove the brake caliper bracket before removing the brake rotors. Make sure you check and lubricate the brake slider pins with synthetic brake grease, avalable at any auto parts store. It may be necessary to hammer the inside of the brake rotor outward with a heavy ball pein hammer of a short lightweight maul. Turn the rotor as you hammer it. It's rusted on the end of the drive axles.

**It's important to use an electric drill with a stiff hardware store wire brush mounted on a spindle to clean the inside surface of the rotor which was rusted on the axle flange. Use the same wire brush to clean off the ends of the axles. If you have a shop nearby with a brake lathe the rotors should be re-surfeaced. If new rotors are necessary, find an AC-Delco dealer or your local Chevrolet parts counter. Auto parts stores nowadays sell cheap junk off-shore brake rotors which aren't worth your time and energy installing. autopartswarehouse.com has EBC slotted and dimpled rotors that have been cast in Great Britain which are exceptional parts.

Off-shore (China) cast iron is terrible. It'll rust corrode and warp easily. You'll also notice large pits in the surfaces as the brake pads wear the surfaces.

What ever brake rotors you decide to go with paint a thin coat of *Never Seize on the inside surface that mates to the axles. The rotors will never stick on the ends of the axles again. Select Ceramic brake pads also. Bendix CT.3 @ autopartswarehouse.com or Advanse Auto. AC-Delco are the two brands I'd suggest. How to change rear brake pads and rotor on a Chevy 2004 Trailblazer EXT?

If only one side has worn pads, you probably need to replace the caliper as well. The plunger in the caliper may be sticking and causing the problem. If you have ever changed disc brakes before, it's pretty self explanatory. The only difference you will find on the back brakes is the rotors are actually drum rotors and there is a drum Integrated into the rotor for the parking brake.
